Asked Questions
Are contrast agents and radiation during a CT scan dangerous for health?
The amount of contrast medium used is extremely low thanks to new technologies. The dose of radiation absorbed by the body is lower than that of a chest X-ray.
Can the contrast medium cause contraindications or allergies?
Generally, no. However, the response can vary from person to person. To minimize the risk of allergic reactions, a mild anti-allergic therapy is administered 48 hours before the exam.
How long does the Megah examination last?
The entire Megah examination, including the cardiological visit, lasts a maximum of one hour.
What documentation is provided after the Megah examination?
The clinic performing the exam provides reports for all services, including those for cardiovascular assessment, the CT scan, and Calcium Score. For the Calcium Score exam, a CD with the acquired images is provided, which usually includes about a thousand images.
